Installation & Fitting

A spreader bar hammock must be tensioned almost "like a string," as the bars are responsible for its shape. For a hammock with a length of 340 cm, the minimum distance between suspension points is also 340 cm. However, a larger distance is always better, as it provides space for adjusting the ropes during installation.

• Height: It is best to mount hooks or ropes at a height of about 120–150 cm from the ground.

• Ground Clearance: When you sit inside, the lowest point of the hammock should be approximately 40–50 cm above the ground (standard chair height). This ensures easy sitting and standing.

• The "First Stretch": A new cotton hammock will always stretch by several centimeters after its first use. Hang it slightly tighter or higher than seems necessary – after a few minutes of lying down, the material will "settle" into the correct position.
  
  Important notes: When sitting down or standing up, please do not hold onto the wooden bar. Also, do not jump or throw yourself into the hammock forcefully, as this may break the bar.
